What is actually used for professional clothing?

The focus is not on protection, but on the unity of clothing.It is, so to speak, a kind of uniform, as it is known, for example, from cafes or restaurant chains.It is also necessary to distinguish between dresscode and exactly the same clothes.The former is merely a prescription of colors or garments, for example black and white or suit.However, if an exact dress code is prescribed, this is usually used to strengthen the corporate identity , the brand (Apple) or marketing (Abercrombie & Fitch).

Who pays what?
In the case of protective clothing, it is legally stipulated that the employer must pay the costs.Only if the worker carries the clothing voluntarily does he have to bear the costs himself.
When it comes to workwear, it does not look so rosy for the employee.For most of the time he has to pay for the prescribed clothes.The costs can also be deducted directly from the salary.
Whoever has to pay which costs, however, is usually regulated in the tariff or employment contract or also in the company agreement.So be sure to find out more before working!
In general, the worker must pay for clothing which can be worn outside the work itself.These include, for example, blouses, skirts, suits, etc.
It is also important that the employee is not deprived of his/her own costs.This means that wages and costs must not be in disproportion.Exaggeratedly said:A worker who gets a minimum wage, for example, should not spend 50 euros a month on work clothes.
Of course the employer (insofar as he specifies a dress code or protective clothing) must ensure that all employees are equipped with the same clothing, regardless of the size of the clothing they wear.When working clothes are provided, this must be done in all sizes, as long as they are available.It can also be that the worker with an oversize the clothing itself, but does not have to pay itself, even if the other employees do not even have to pay for the work clothes.But this is, as I said, held in an employment agreement.

One thing is clear:protective clothing must be worn.It serves the protection of the worker and is therefore essential.After all, he is not supposed to represent his company and therefore does not have to look chic.
In the case of workwear, however, there are cases where the prescribed clothing can be dispensed with.For example, if she violates the personality right or religious views.The latter can be, among other things, a turban which can be worn instead of a paper hat if it meets the same hygienic standards.
Can you be terminated due to your clothes?
Which clothing is adequate depends, of course, on the industry in which you work. And appropriateness is at the same time the most important criterion you should consider.Because in an office in which every suit is wearing, it is hardly appropriate to appear in shorts and flip flops.Nor do you want to be the only one.
