What watches are the fastest? And what is the advantage of the high speed of the wearer at all? For sports cars, the maximum speed is an important value. Watches should not run faster, otherwise they go ahead. But the clock, the balance, can turn faster. The higher speed there leads to a higher precision of the clock. If 18,000 half-oscillations (equal to 2.5 hertz) were normal during the hour, 18,800 half-oscillations (4 hertz) are already standard.
Even faster are the following clocks. In the case of chronographs, a higher speed also leads to a higher stop accuracy: at 28,800 A / h it is possible to precisely stop at the eighth second, with 36,000 A / h (5 hertz) one tenth of a second. At higher clock speeds, however, the power reserve drops rapidly due to the higher energy requirements. This is why the ultra-fast chronographs have a second oscillating system in addition to the normal balance.We show the fastest models:

The Fastest Clock # 1: Zenith El Primero Sport (36,000 A / H)

When Zenith presented its caliber El Primero in January 1969, it was the first chronograph caliber with automatic lift. And the only one working at 36,000 A / h, so accurate measurements were possible on the tenth of a second. Until 2000, Zenith even delivered works to Rolex. The brand with the crown built it into the model Daytona – however downturned to 28,800 A / h. The latest model is the El Primero Sport. The view on thecaliber El Primero 400B releases a sapphire glass bottom. Stainless steel, 46 millimeters, 7,900 euros
