MBA Studies: Scholarship to Finance
Looking for a scholarship to study for an MBA? We
have an overview of where to research, a database of
scholarships and, of course, tips on how to get your MBA
scholarship.
A scholarship is actually the nicest way to finance
your studies. The money is free, you do not have to make
any commitments (as with employer financing) or touch
your own savings. MBA grants are not uncommon , but
unfortunately not as numerous as for example for
Bachelor students.
What is clear: If you want to receive a scholarship
for your MBA, you have to spend time researching and
applying. And then you are lucky enough to prevail
against the competition. With several thousand euros in
scholarships, this effort can be worthwhile.
Overview: grants from universities, foundations,
etc.
Anyone who does research will find dozens of funding
opportunities. The award criteria for the scholarships
vary widely. For example, there are scholarships for
students from certain countries, for certain subjects,
for women or for founders. Most of the time, one should
(logically) have one prerequisite: financial need.
For image reasons, almost every university / business
school also offers scholarships for its own
programs. Sometimes the information on the website is
clearly visible, sometimes you should specifically ask
the student advisory service. Such a scholarship is
actually the best solution because, compared to other
grants, you have to submit relatively few documents and,
above all, the MBA scholarship then applies exactly to
the course that you find interesting.
Examples:
EBS Business School: The EBS Scholarship comprises
grants ranging from 25 to 100% of the tuition fees.
Frankfurt School of Finance: The three grants, each
worth 15,000 euros, are awarded to female managers from
industry. There are also grants for managers from small
and medium-sized companies as well as international
students.
The HWR Berlin awards four partial scholarships, each
worth € 5,000, for the young women in management for a
place in the Berlin MBA program.
In cooperation with UnternehmerTUM GmbH, the TUM
Graduate School awards two grants of 16,000 euros each
to Executive MBA students in Innovation and Business
Creation.
The Furtwangen awards for the Executive MBA program
is also designed specifically for women up to three
partial scholarships, each worth 6,000 euros.
The Hamburg Media School provides corporate grants
from companies such as Gruner + Jahr and NDR Media. HMS
also awards its own scholarships to MBA applicants.
In a national competition, the RWTH International
Academy awards a partial scholarship (50%) for the
Executive MBA of RWTH Aachen.
The GGS Heilbronn offers a 75% scholarship especially
for MBA participants who have founded their own company
or are about to do so.
The HSBA awards several full and partial scholarships
each year to finance the tuition fees (together with the
Association of German Engineers, the Commerz-Collegium
zu Altona and the Association of Friends and Sponsors of
the HSBA).
The Kuehne Logistics University announces a partial
scholarship for the part-time EMBA program "Leadership &
Logistics" for all member companies of the Logistik-Initiative
Hamburg.
The University of Potsdam is awarding an MBA
scholarship for the first time in the 2018/2019 winter
semester, which motivates specialists to advance to
management and supports and supports them in the study
phase.
Further research options
The first way should lead to the websites of the
universities where you have planned to study . In some
cases you can get clues there, for example under the
menu item "Costs / Financing". If no funding
opportunities are presented, you should pick up the
phone and simply call the student advisory service. If
you are lucky, you will come across a university that
wants to fill its year, i.e. the lecture rooms, a little
better, and get a discount on the tuition fee.
