But courses in calculus, statistics, and economics is often recommended. Some schools have a minimum grade point average (GPA) requirements, while others are not.

In order to apply for most MBA programs, you must fill out the University's application form and send in the application fee, which varies by school. Other documents typically required include transcripts showing your GPA, a CV and essays. MBA application essays are designed to learn more about you as a person, your goals and the contributions you have made in the workplace. Sample essay topics include "lasting effects that you have made in the workplace" and "How an MBA will help you reach your career wishes." Two or three letters of recommendation are also typically required. Professional recommendations from supervisors and employees, indicating your strengths as a Manager and leader is highly regarded. Application deadlines vary from school. Many schools have multiple application deadlines throughout the year for admission to the fall, spring or summer semesters.

GMAT consists of three parts: verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning and analytical writing. According to MBA, GMAT Programs.org measures the skills important in the MBA-studies and show them who is likely to succeed in the MBA programs. The test is offered at testing centers around the country all year round, and is valid for five years. Many schools do not have a minimum GMAT score requirements; but for competitive programs, a high score is imperative. Some schools will accept the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) in place of the GMAT. For international students, is a standardized English exam typically required.
