WITH SPECIAL QUALITY, THE MBA TRIPLE CROWN
Many competitors are bustling in the MBA market. But only the best business schools can call the three most important accreditations (AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS) their own.
The recognition by the three top accreditations, the so-called Triple Crown, is of great importance for business schools. The accreditation of the AACSB is based primarily on quantitative factors and numbers and evaluates university-wide, whereas the AMBA primarily evaluates the quality of the individual MBA programs. EQUIS, however, weighs both factors equally.
Well-known US schools such as Harvard, Wharton and Tuck do not appear in the list of triple-accredited schools. This is mainly due to the fact that they do not meet the AMBA requirement to only accept applicants with at least three years of professional experience. However, since these schools have a mostly legendary reputation, they do not need these quality seals anyway. The Triple Crown is therefore an extra-American phenomenon and focuses above all on the growing and highly competitive MBA market in Europe – above all France and Great Britain.
