MBA in Business Law
There are only a few universities that offer an MBA in business law or a thematically related course. If you are interested in high-quality further training in this subject area, we offer you an overview of the MBA and other master’s degree programs below.
We say it in advance: There are actually no “right” business law MBA courses. Therefore, in our description we also go to thematically related MBAs and the LL.M. as an alternative. We also wrote an MBA guide for lawyers.
Today’s business and corporate world is largely shaped by fiercely competitive markets, structural change, new technologies and media, differentiated customer needs, changing social values and complex legal framework conditions. In this changing business world, there are numerous exciting fields of application for both fully qualified lawyers and graduates of a business law course.
An MBA can be a good career option for (full) lawyers as well as for commercial lawyers. Both benefit from new business know-how and acquire a qualification that is also suitable for top management jobs. Another advantage: You can talk to your clients at eye level about balance sheets and business challenges.
Study variants
An MBA in general management is particularly suitable for lawyers. Here, basic business administration knowledge is imparted, which complements the legal know-how. More on this in the guide to the MBA for lawyers / lawyers.
If you want to further qualify at the interface between business administration and law, i.e. in business law, unfortunately you are currently not finding anything in Germany. There is no MBA in business law, but there are many different LL.M. courses. These are recommended after a bachelor’s or diploma or the state examination and are among the most popular additional qualifications of lawyers and business lawyers.
Dresden International University – Business and Law (MBA / LL. M.)
This degree is always mentioned when it comes to an MBA in the field of business law. The target group is both lawyers / business lawyers and business economists. Both professional groups complete the basic course of study before deciding on either the LL.M. focus or the MBA focus in the advanced phase.
The MBA or LL.M. is designed to be part-time as a weekend course (Saturdays and Sundays). The tuition fee is 12,500 euros.
